Apartment 20
For its owners, Apartment 20 was a labour of love, hate, sweat and tears. As with all renovation projects, you have to put the work in to get results, and in this case, the juice is certainly worth the squeeze. Conceptually the brief was simple: Practical, low loss, low emission, low maintenance living. That is where Snapfast came in....
Apartment 20 was initially running at well over 1500w of lighting. Working with the Interior designers, using Vision & CREE LED as consultants, we came up with a solution that would reduce the wattage to 189w (circuit watts).
At 1000 square feet, the designers were concerned that such a significant drop in wattage would sacrifice light output. Although we were confident this would not be the case, a test was conducted using a run of GU10 fittings. Using Vision 5w and standard 50w lamps alongside one another there was seen to be no depreciation in light output from one fitting to the next. With everyone on board the decision to switch was simple.
Apartment 20 is now available for viewing, to show home owners and builders alike that LED lighting systems work efficiently and integrate easily with current household fittings and fixtures.
